Use the core features of Microsoft Project to manage projects from inception to close out in any industry, government or non-profit organization.

Course Materials:

All attendees receive a 175-page Schedule Associates exclusive reference manual developed after years of working with project managers to understand what they would find most helpful in learning how to use the software. The reference manual is specifically designed to be easy to follow along in, to provide quick access to needed information and to provide guidance in using Microsoft Project in planning and managing projects back in the workplace.

Who Would Benefit From Attending:

This course is beneficial for those with some familiarity of project management who are being given increasing responsibility for managing projects and are looking for a software tool to help them do so. This may include project managers, business or systems analysts, resource managers, business/IT liaisons, developers, manufacturing engineers, help desk managers, product managers, scientists, network engineers and technicians, quality assurance personnel, and anyone else given responsibility for completing projects.

The course is appropriate for those using Microsoft Project 2000, Microsoft Project 2002, Microsoft Project 2003 or Microsoft Project 2007.

Course Credits:

Attendees will receive credit for 14 contact hours of project management training good toward PMI®'s CAPM or PMP® project management certification.

PMP®'s will receive 14 PDU's good toward recertification.

Course Format:

A mix of demonstrations in Microsoft Project, explanation of concepts on flip charts or whiteboards and case studies performed in Microsoft Project to combine project management concepts with the use of the software. The presentation of concepts is followed by hands-on case studies in which participants can confirm their understanding of how to use Microsoft Project to implement what they've just learned. 

Prerequisites:

Some familiarity with project management concepts is assumed. If you're not familiar with project management principles, we strongly recommend taking Project Management: Principles and Practices prior to taking this course.

Attendees should also be familiar with how to navigate around Microsoft Windows applications prior to class.
